Letter from 2007 Campaign Co-Chairs
This is an exciting year to be at the helm of the United Way campaign. Having completed 75 years of service to our community, United Way of the Inland Valleys has embarked on a transformation that will move this organization from Good to Great and will raise more money than ever before, while improving the effectiveness of the investments we make in the well-being of our homes, businesses and communities. We should feel proud of the thousands of lives that we touch annually as a result of our community's generosity and efforts. From clothing the homeless, feeding the hungry and caring for our children, along with countless other examples, we have made a real difference throughout the course of our history.
Although we have accomplished a great deal, we cannot rest on our laurels. As our community continues to grow faster than nearly any other region in the country, the needs of the community also grow. The United Way of the Inland Valleys is committed to strengthening families, supporting independence, providing better health and wellness and ensuring a bright future for our children. This is because Community Matters.
We challenge you to join us as we stretch the expectations of what we can achieve; as we strive to raise far more than in the past; and as we redesign all of our systems to better ensure that the money invested will do the work that is needed. By sponsoring a campaign, you are providing tangible proof that you care: about your community, your neighbors, customers and perhaps most importantly, your employees. Your employees benefit, along with their families and friends, from the community investments and services supported by the United Way of the Inland Valleys. Your bottom line will benefit as well. Stronger, safer and healthier employees result in improved productivity. Investments in our human capital make our region a better place to live and to do business.
Thank you for all you have done. We hope to see you on the campaign trail!
Sincerely,
Gene Reynolds
