In March 2016, Lisa Wright was appointed as President and CEO. Prior to joining United Way of the Inland Valleys, Lisa was the Executive Director of Philanthropy for Loma Linda University Health and Vice President of Development for two human service organizations in Southern California. Lisa has lived in the Inland Valleys community for 13 years and is passionate about this community. She attained a Bachelor of Science in Business / Accounting from the University of Arizona, a Master of Divinity from the Claremont School of Theology and is working towards a PhD in Ethics at Claremont School of Theology. A dedicated member of the community, she also serves on local committee and boards that further her interest in building a healthy, safe, and prosperous community to live and work for all. She loves that no matter one’s income, United Way allows anyone to become a change agent through their philanthropy.

Gail Ousley is our Chief Operating Officer. She leads and manages Community Impact efforts, Program Development, most of Finance, Operations and serves as our resident HR expert. She has been with our United Way for six years and has been with many other United Ways during her 35 year career as a United Way professional. She has had many roles during her career including Senior VP of Resource Development & Marketing, VP of Community Impact and Executive Director of a smaller United Way.

Kimberly has worked in the United Way system for more than a decade, and brings both development and program experience to her position. Her background is in music; she studied vocal performance at the University of Redlands (Go Bulldogs!) and begins course work towards her MBA this spring. She spent some time abroad on a service mission to Croatia and came home bi-lingual, but with no clue as to her next steps. Luckily, the stars aligned and lead her to her dream career. The driving passion behind her work is twofold: her belief that everyone deserves a good life, and her desire to make our world and community a wonderful place for her two young sons.

Cordell Thomas joined the United Way of the Inland Valley (UWIV) Team, as of January 2017. Prior to joining UWIV, Cordell was the Executive Director for AXIS Foundation, Inc. Cordell has lived in the Inland Valleys community for 12 years and loves the community and its role in the Southern California economy.
Cordell has a Bachelor of Science in Health Psychology via Andrews University and a Masters in Business Administration via the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). Cordell enjoys teaching music labs and providing youth financial literacy information. He looks forward to participating in the initiatives that support community development and economic growth.

Irene Caldera has been in development at United Way for the past three years. She loves helping people, and she gets a chance to do it by working at United Way. Irene believes everyone deserves the same opportunities. Irene is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in early child education at National University. After graduating high school she joined the Air Force and was stationed in Las Vegas NV where she lived for twenty years before moving back to the Inland Valleys.

Jeanette Marlar is the Engagement Officer at United Way of the Inland Valleys. She has been employed with United Way since August 2000. Her civic duties include serving as Secretary of San Gorgonio Pass Rotary Club for the past 2 years. She is a Charter Member of the club. She is past Chair of the Pass Economic Development Association. Jeanette has been married to her husband Earle for 38 years. They have two children, and two beautiful granddaughters. Her hobbies include camping in their motorhome, jeep riding, boating, fishing and of course spending time with her granddaughters.

In April of 2013, Margie Saldibar joined United Way of the Inland Valleys as a Campaign Assistant. In 2014 she moved into the Executive Assistant position supporting the President & CEO. Prior to Joining UWIV, Margie worked in fundraising and Development Manager positions at March of Dimes, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Make A Wish Foundation and the Pasadena Humane Society over the past 12 years. A dedicated member of her Upland community Margie just completed and is certified as CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) member and serves as a fundraising volunteer as the local Upland Animal shelter.

Norma Sanchez has worked for United Way of the Inland Valleys in Resource Development for the past eight years. She is also co-owner of SanAco Electronic Sales, a printed circuit board sales firm. Norma is State Certified in Human Services and has been working in this field for over 30, working in Los Angeles and Riverside County. She and her husband Gabriel are empty nesters with two adult children thriving on their own. She has lived in Riverside County for the past 27 years. Norma best things in life are family, friends and her work.

Jennifer Thornton is extremely passionate about the success, happiness, and health of the children in our local communities. This desire led her to pursue higher education, graduating cum laude from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. This is her second year with United Way of the Inland Valleys. She enjoys what she does and loves the people she works with. Jennifer has two teenage children that she spends most of her time with outside of work.
