Security Bank President, Michael Vanderpool, was recognized as Volunteer of the Year at the United Way of the Inland Valleys' annual meeting on May 29th.

As the 2007 United Way ongoing board chair, Mike has a long history of volunteering with United Way and has served in many volunteer positions. "It has been rare that I have had the chance to work with someone who is as deserving of the Volunteer of the Year Award," said Kevin McCarthy, United Way CEO. "Mike has been patient and tireless in helping us move forward. He helped me avoid many pitfalls...and he has helped recruit many of the new talents that have since joined our board."

Mike will continue his service to United Way this year in the capacity of past chair on the board of directors.
