Dear Fellow County Employees,
The Riverside County Employee Campaign has long been one of the primary tools we, as employees, have used to support charitable giving to our communities. The Campaign supports 575 different charities. Why so many? Because this is your campaign. You direct your contributions to the charities that you passionately support - and because there are so many of us – even small donations of $1 per pay period add up to meaningful dollars that do powerful things for our communities! Together, we raised over $700,000 last year!
What if you haven’t found your passion, though? We have made it our goal to help by asking employees that have found their passions to help you find yours. To that end, we have updated the Employee Campaign website (www.uwiv.org/county) to include videos and feeds that allow employees to highlight their passions by posting to #myrivcopassion on Facebook or Twitter. Please feel free to upload videos, fliers or short blurbs about charities you are passionate about and include Tax ID Numbers so your fellow employees can easily choose to support those charities! The top 25 charities supported by your coworkers are also highlighted on this pamphlet.
If you have not yet made a donation through the Employee Campaign, we urge you to consider donating $5 per paycheck to a charity of your choice. If you are an existing donor, please consider increasing your donation by $5 per paycheck. If we could get $5 a paycheck from every current donor, we could raise an additional $230,000 to help our communities! This Campaign funds organizations that positively impact the lives of families and individuals in need, our environment and much more. If you are a first time donor, do not hesitate to reach out to your department coordinator or contact us directly. We are here to answer your questions and provide assistance.
I have always been humbled by the commitment, kindness and generosity of our fellow County employees. Employees that care so deeply and passionately about helping others that they regularly go above and beyond to lift them up. Whether its going the extra mile to help someone obtain needed County services, through the generous donation of time to assist local charities, or by financially supporting co-workers efforts to do the same – it is amazing to watch our teams rally around each other to make our communities better.
I am grateful for this opportunity to serve as Chair of this year’s Riverside County Employee Campaign and very happy Hans Kernkamp, Director of Waste Resources, has agreed to serve as my Vice Chair.
On behalf of all who have benefited from your generosity, we thank you.
