A Time for Caring…Neighbor
to Neighbor
The American Red Cross of Riverside County
sent Elvis to New York to facilitate the transportation of
materials and
equipment to American Red Cross aid
and respite centers. Elvis also helped at respite centers
where firemen, police
officers, and American Red Cross aid
providers could rest and replenish work supplies.
After returning to Riverside, Elvis describes
his experiences as life changing. "I went from
feelings of helplessness and powerlessness
to that of hopefulness. I saw the good that can come from
dedicated people who serve out of compassion. I want to make
a difference in the lives of people," Elvis continued.
"That is why I love my job, I can help people everyday
and that makes a difference."
Together United Way and the American
Red Cross of Riverside County help people in our community
everyday, and sometimes…they send people from our community…to
make a difference elsewhere.
