A Time for Caring
Neighbor
to Neighbor
For the next three years Anthony went to Operation
SafeHouse each time he was released from juvenile hall.
Still, he was not ready to commit to a better way of life.
On his 18th birthday he was released for the last
time from juvenile hall. Anthony had nowhere to go.
"When I left Operation SafeHouse
they told me the door was always open. Anthony explained,
"I wanted to turn my life around. I was ready to commit
to a better way of life."
Anthony returned to Operation SafeHouse
and this time, it proved to be the visit that would get him
back on track. After completing the program, Anthony began
volunteering at Operation SafeHouse and was soon hired
to work part-time at Operation SafeHouse. Anthony is
now working full-time at Operation SafeHouse where
he does some childcare work, grocery shopping and often takes
clients to church. He also visits high schools to speak out
against gangs, drugs, and drinking.
