for Volunteer Leadership Development Program

Identifies and trains members of ethnic, racial and other
underrepresented groups to become effective, knowledgeable
members of boards and public-sector commissions.
Helps ensure that the decision-making bodies of non-profit
agencies are people who represent the community's diverse
populations.
Works in partnership with business and public-sector representatives
to fulfill the goals of the Blueprint Program.
Accelerates the involvement of individuals in public-sector
commissions and non-profit boards.
The purpose is two-fold:
Prepare skilled volunteers from underrepresented groups
to serve in leadership positions.
Provide cultural awareness and diversity training for the
staff and key volunteers of community organizations.
The annual Leadership Development Program is
conducted over an 8-week period, (representing 40 hours),
including observations. Classes are conducted during the evening
and weekend hours.
