through 43 affiliated agencies that offer programs and services
throughout Riverside County.

Way.

in every three people in Western Riverside County directly
benefits from programs and services offered through
United Way affiliated agencies.

Way was created by the community, for the community
and community volunteers oversee the systems and processes
to assure effectiveness, efficiency, and trustworthiness.

Way of the Inland Valleys is Effective
Local
dollars fill local needs at local agencies governed
by local volunteers.
Over
100 local experienced volunteers distribute funds based
on community priorities and needs.
Many
United Way agencies leverage United Way dollars for
additional funding, thus increasing the capacity to serve.
United
Way agencies are accountable for providing high quality,
critical health and human services at a reasonable cost and
are themselves governed by volunteer boards.

United
Way fundraising and administrative costs of 14% compare
favorably with National Charities Information Bureau Guidelines
of no more than 25% for nonprofit agencies.
United
Way can collect and disburse more money at a lower
cost because volunteers assist with every aspect of its operation.
United
Way of the Inland Valleys is accountable to its donors.
An independent CPA firm, as well as United Way’s volunteer
Finance Committee, audits all United Way records annually.

of our efforts to improve the community.
Volunteer

Our
volunteer Board of Directors are business and community leaders
who through their involvement in United Way, govern policy
and performance.

and if desired, anonymity and we never sell, rent or trade
our list of donors.
