Message
from the CEO:
United Way is more than a logo or a brand name.
We are literally the ‘"united way" in which
our community meets our common needs. We are able to bring
together folks from all walks of life, all political persuasions,
ethnic groups, income levels and religions to work together
to meet our local needs.
United Way of the Inland Valleys exists
to improve the lives of people right here in Western Riverside
County. Not
just the impoverished or indigent… but families with
child care needs, victims of assault or disaster and kids
in scouting or after-school programs.
It is estimated that one-in-three local
residents make use of United Way supported services each
year in our community. If
you take the time to review the programs we fund, you will
likely find that you or a member of your family have already
benefited from one of these programs or will do so in the
future.
United Way raises funds through work
place giving, corporate gifts and individual donations. Approximately 98% of
funds donated to the Community Care Fund stay local. These
monies are distributed to reputable 501.(c).3 organizations
that are annually reviewed by our Community Review Teams. Each
agency has to undergo a vigorous examination to demonstrate
that they are using these funds in an effective, efficient
and ethical manner to meet identified needs in our community.
