UNITED WE STAND PARADE SEEKS ENTRIES
(Murrieta, California)— The second annual United We
Stand Parade will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2005
in historic downtown Murrieta. The parade will commemorate
those lost on September 11, 2001, and honor our local heroes
who serve as fire fighters, police officers and military veterans.
The theme of the parade is American Patriotism and United
We Stand. The parade also serves as the kickoff or the 2005
United Way of the Inland Valleys fundraising campaign.
"Our first parade last year was very successful and enthusiastically
welcomed by the community." said parade chairman John
Roberts, KZSW-TV. "This year will be even bigger, and
we encourage everyone to enter, whether it be a float, band
or riding entry.”
The parade starts at 9:00 a.m. on Washington Street at Fullerton
Road. It will proceed down Washington to the Community Center
on Juniper Street. The parade will be followed by a barbecue
and Agency Fair, featuring booths and displays by Member Agencies
of United Way of the Inland Valleys.
