GEORGE CARVALHO AND LARRY RUBIO NAMED 2003 UNITED WAY RIVERSIDE REGIONAL CAMPAIGN CO-CHAIRS

August 4, 2003 (Riverside, California)— George Caravalho, City Manager of the City of Riverside and Larry Rubio, CEO of Riverside Transit Agency has been appointed Riverside Region co-chairs of the 2003 United Way of the Inland Valleys’ campaign.

“ We are planning an exciting campaign this year to raise money to help provide much needed programs in greater Riverside,” said Caravalho.

Rubio added, “It’s encouraging to see our local businesses pulling together every year to raise these vital funds for our community. Last year, the Riverside region campaign raised more than $1.8 million, so we certainly have our work cut out for us. But, with the level of enthusiasm that people have for the United Way campaign, I’m optimistic that we can continue this upward trend.”
The United Way of the Inland Valleys Campaign Cabinet is comprised of local business and community leaders who coordinate fund-raising activities for United Way. Along with Caravalho and Rubio, the 2003 Riverside Region Committee members are

Ricki McManuis, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Riverside County’s Credit Union, Kathy MacDougall, Human Resources Manager at Luxfer Gas Cylinders, Inc., and Jaime Wesolowski, President/CEO of Riverside Community Hospital.
United Way of the Inland Valleys supports over 80 programs and services, serving residents of Greater Riverside, Moreno Valley, Temecula, Banning, Beaumont, Cherry Valley, Canyon Lake, Cabazon, Glen Avon, Jurupa, Lake Elsinore, Mira Loma, Murrieta, Pedley, Rubidoux, Wildomar, and Perris.
