GEORGE
CARVALHO AND LARRY RUBIO NAMED
2003 UNITED
WAY RIVERSIDE
REGIONAL CAMPAIGN CO-CHAIRS
August
4, 2003 (Riverside, California)— George
Caravalho, City Manager of the
City of Riverside and Larry
Rubio,
CEO of Riverside Transit Agency
has been appointed Riverside Region
co-chairs of the 2003 United Way
of the Inland Valleys’ campaign.
“
We are planning an exciting campaign
this year to raise money to help
provide much needed programs in
greater Riverside,” said
Caravalho. Rubio
added, “It’s
encouraging to see our local businesses
pulling together every year to
raise these vital funds for our
community. Last year, the Riverside
region campaign raised more than
$1.8 million, so we certainly have
our work cut out for us. But, with
the level of enthusiasm that people
have for the United Way campaign,
I’m optimistic that we can
continue this upward trend.”
