UNITED
WAY BOARD RECERTIFIES SIX AGENCIES
August 14, 2002 (Riverside, California)The
Board of Directors of the United Way of the Inland Valleys
approved the recertification of six (6) agencies.
The six agencies are Banning Youth
Center, Habitat for Humanity Riverside, Inland Agency, Jewish
Family Services of the Inland Communities, Lutheran Social
Services and Partnership With Industry.
- Banning Youth Center arranges after
school recreation and tutoring assistance for youth-at-risk,
ages 5 to 17, residing in the downtown area of Banning.
- Habitat for Humanity Riverside
works with low-income families to improve the conditions
in which they are forced to live by providing affordable
housing.
- Inland Agency offers several programs
providing health promotion and violence prevention programs
to improve the quality of life for diverse populations
in Riverside County.
- Jewish Family Services of the
Inland Communities provides information and referral
services, outpatient an environmental health clinic for
families and individuals over 18, and education programs
for seniors, families and individuals.
- Lutheran Social Services of Southern
California offers transitional living programs with
comprehensive case management and transitional housing
services for the homeless. Marriage, family, and child
counseling are available through the Journey Counseling
Services.
- Partnership with Industry assists
persons with developmental disabilities to get and keep
good jobs in the community.
Incorporated in 1931, United Way
is an independent, locally managed nonprofit organization
that raises and allocates funds to support health and human
care services in Western Riverside County.
