UNITED WAY SEED GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR
THE PERRIS AREA
Perris, CA (April 20, 2002)----United Way of
the Inland Valleys has $14,000 in seed grant funds available
to 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-governmental health or human
service organizations.
The funds are for new or expanded programs
serving Perris residents that specifically address health
care and supportive services - dental, medical and vision
services for children including transportation to appointments;
basic subsistence programs specifically for utility assistance;
and transportation to programs and services for low-income
residents. Favorable consideration will be given to programs
that will make a substantial impact and has other committed
financial resources,
Grants may be awarded to one program or divided
and awarded to several programs. Interested agencies must
submit eight sets of documents including an agency information
sheet and a two-page concept paper by 4:00 p.m. Friday, May
31, 2002. Selected agencies will be asked to submit a more
comprehensive grant application. For more information or to

Cindy Koch, of the Perris Elementary School
District chairs the committee which includes: Dennis Murray,
Perris Union High School District; Nancy Encidott, Nan Sanders
Elementary School; Belinda Marquez, Catholic Charities; and
community volunteers Ray Pinero and Marlene Caro.
