Chairman's Message:
I
am honored to be elected United Way of the Inland Valleys'
Chairman of the Board. It has been personally rewarding for
me to be a part of the Board for several years. We all have
our own "special charity interest," but United Way
contributions allow us to touch so many more lives by combining
our efforts. Sometimes the needs of the community can be overwhelming---but
by everyone's effort in some small or big way---we can make
a difference.
I always remember the story of the small child throwing the
beached starfish one by one back into the ocean. The skeptical
adult walked by, asking what the child was doing and noting
that it was impossible to save them all. As the child threw
one back into the ocean, she said, "but I can make a
difference in that one's life." Please join me in making
a difference in the lives of the people of our community.
