2010 Day of Caring - SW Region/Temecula & Murrieta
Twenty-two teams, comprised of nearly 700 volunteers completed 36 projects at 15 sites throughout Temecula and Murrieta.
High school students needing community service hours, members of the Latter Day Saints churches and Rotary Clubs, employees at companies that support United Way campaigns, and volunteers throughout the region not only wore their "LIVE UNITED" t-shirts, but lived it!
Maryann Edwards, president and CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest County and Temecula City Councilwoman, led the crowd in singing the "Star-Spangled Banner." Murrieta Mayor Kelly Bennett welcomed the crowd and thanked them for their volunteer work to help those who can't help themselves.
The event ended with raffles, live music, lunch and lots of fun back at the Murrieta Town Center Park.
The Temecula/Murrieta DOC committee was chaired by Sharon Tisdale and included Kristine Turner, Barb Landon, Ralph Allen, Roger Weber, Dave Silvestri, Patee Pinto, Bernie Bramante, George Nelson, Jeff Leichty, Ashlee DePhillipo, Laura Frasso, Daisy Tate, and Laurel Miller.
